He 111 H with radar antennas

Probably the last find for today:

https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/view...50059370450706

He 111 H DJ+CW, Schleissheim, 1945.

When zooming on its nose, the dipolar antennas are clearly to be seen. Any additional information on this machine?

Cheers
Marc

Re: He 111 H with radar antennas

Thanks lilsis;

It is thus a copy of the British H2S radar... Maybe this close-up shot of DJ+CW will help:

He 111H With Radar Antennas

I do not know if the comment regarding the codes T S + M A and T S + M B being Stammkennzeichen used more than once was made wryly, jokingly, or seriously, but in any event, let it be said that neither of these codes was a SKZ but rather a kind of training school unit or facility Kennzeichen indicating Technical School Munich A and Technical School Munich B. There are several examples of both Kennzeichen that are known from displays on Bf 109s, Bf 110s, and Fw 190s, among others, at Schleißheim and perhaps elsewhere.

Separate and apart from the T S + M - Kennzeichen, it is a fact that a few genuine SKZs were used twice, apparently in error. The duplicates seem especially frequent among captured foreign aircraft, as Tony Jones pointed out several years ago.

Re: He 111 H with radar antennas

Rémi,

Great to know the W.Nr. of DJ+CW! Many thanks!

Rabe Anton,
I made the initial mistake whilst posting those excellent Schleissheim pics; I was corrected by Franck Ouidjat. Thanks for your precisions.

Cheers

Re: He 111 H with radar antennas

Surely these are not H2S/Rotterdam, for this was a centimettric device using a scanning aerial, the Luftwaffe equivalent being Berlin. Are they not fairly typical Lichtenstein arrays?

Re: He 111 H with radar antennas

Graham,

just my guestimate as mentioned before and i agree.
For this He 111 seems to be blown up by explosives it may not be of wonder if some antenna parts of an SN 2-array went off in affecting.

Regards
Norbert
