eBay He114 photo of crash?

At eBay here are a series of He114 photos. One is coded 7R+I? (probably 'K') of (S)/AGr.125. The second is VA+?? (possibly stkz. VA+HK). This has crashed and has lost its floats. Are there any further details?

Re: eBay He114 photo of crash?

When the 2./Aufkl.Fl.Gr. 125 was ewstablished in Aalborg-See on 08.04.41 by renaming the 4./Bordfl.Erg.Staffel, the He 114B W.Nr. 2572 was given the unit code 7R+IK. On 19. July 1941 W.Nr. 2572 was transferred from 2./125 to 1./125 and remained on this unit strength at least until 01.09.41. Unfortunately I do not have the Staffel letter for 2572 when with 1./125. On 7.11.1941 this Staffel moved from Pillau to List to start conversion to BV 138.

Re: eBay He114 photo of crash?

Many thanks for the detailed history of WNr.2572. I'm still looking for details on the crashed VA+?? He114? I would assume that it is also associated with Aufkl.Fl.Gr. 125 during the summer of 1941?

Re: eBay He114 photo of crash?

If the staffel letter remained same:
1941-09-15, 1./SAGr. 125, He 114B-1, 2572, Pernau, Flakbeschuß auf Insel Ösel. Bruch 30 %.
All He 114 -losses in SAGr. 125, which I have in my files are from September 1941.

Re: eBay He114 photo of crash?

Thanks Matti for the additional details for 2572. This date would match the dates for Operation Beowulf, the German operation to take the island of Saaremaa (Ösel). Presumably the He114 was engaged in recon of the island when hit by flak.

Still looking for details on the mystery VA+(HK)?
