Engine cowling for F and G have the same shape, differences are in air scoop and instruments windows. Unfortunately we can't see if it is a triangular window OR if the three rounded ones area was crudely left unpainted.

To my knowledge, no G-2 flew with the B/C/D/E/F canopy model displayed in the photo. The bordfunker position is the same, what changes is the rear portion of the canopy for G-2 and G-4 series.

The D/F loop antenna, as you know John, leads to F series.

Even if I agree with the engine nacelle instrument windows, it is still 2x1 for the F team, and we would still be in a conundrum created by an hybrid airplane.

Unfortunately, since we both aren't on ebay auctions anymore, the possibility of a better analysis of the original or its high res. copy is out of question...?
JVFE105 still haunts us...!

Seriously, fin & rudder points to an 'F' also...?

Re: A few Me-110 photos

Ju 88s in the picture are at Fl.Pl. Pori between 1943-03-06 and 1943-03-15. KK+RS flew 1943-02-14 from Malmi to Pori and CH+ZH flew 1943-03-06 from Tallin to Pori. The Finnish DN-52 was at Pori 1943-02-15 - 1943-03-15. CH+ZH (Ju 88A-4, WNr. 142400) was delivered to 2./KG 30 and destroyed 1943-05-28 (Zusammenstoß in der Luft mit Ju 88A-4, Werk.-Nr. 142197. Bruch 100 %). KK+RS (Ju 88D-1, WNr. 430576) was delivered to 1.(F.)/120 and destroyed 1944-03-05 (Notlandung auf See infolge Flakbeschuß. Bruch 100 %). DN-52 survived the war and flew still in 1940s in the Finnish Air Force.

I strongly suspect, that Bf 110 pix is from the same guy as the other one and therefore possibly taken roughly at the same time at Fl.Pl. Pori. LN+MR was flown from Kemi to Pori 1943-01-23 and it was Bf 110F-2. In March 13.(Z.)/JG 5 got the first three Bf 110G-0 aircraft, but the aircraft in picture seems not to be fresh, factory new. Therefore I vote for F-2 version.

Re: A few Me-110 photos

Very nice update Matti

However you refer to an A-4 CH+ZH while the photo shows CH+ZN.
Is this a typo from your end or do we have to involve a third aircraft into the picture as well?

Cheers
Stig
