Re: Looking for further infos of crashed He 111 (early version)
I saw this one on eBay earlier today, but did not spot the emblem. Many thanks for pointing it out, since it provides a firm answer. The emblem is that of Wekusta 1 (early) and the aircraft is B7+CA or GA. In Barry Rosch’s Luftwaffe Support Units, (2009), p. 19 there is a photo of a He 111 J with this emblem which is claimed to be B7+GA. This aircraft is undamaged, but the prop hub appears to be a different colour scheme than these new pics.
Perhaps an expert on the wekusta units could provide a date and place. Wekusta 1 were active over Poland and apparently retained the He 111 J until spring 1941. Ian
