Re: KGr100 He 111H down in a snowstorm on lake in Norway

Hi, all

The photograph is definitely from Norway, as you can read the letters on the wall of the white building, which is a typical wooden building for Norway, as ´LUFTHAVN´.

Also, the Bf 109E ´Schwarze Winkel´, the aircraft of Lt Horst Carganico is visible.

So Norway is definite - I will double check to ensure that it is Værnes - as it could be one of the southern airfields also.

Regards,
Andreas B

Could well be Kjevik instead of Værnes

Re: KGr100 He 111H down in a snowstorm on lake in Norway

Hi.

That was my initial thought, and after checking my photographs, it is no longer a thought.

This photograph was taken at Kjevik, near Kristiansand in southern Norway.

Regards,
Andreas B

Hi!
You don`t have this magazine or recall which magazine this article was in?
I have heard rumours about locals used parts of this aircraft at the surroundings farms, but I have not got it confirmed yet.
This article may help me on my way ..

Hi...

I was lead to believe that the fuselage of 6N+NH is the same item that was stored in the Deutsche Technikmuseum, Berlin in 2006.

For those who may not have seen it, the undernoted link should take you to the page for the photo of the fuselage; once there, simply scroll down and the Heinkel will be in the left column, two from the bottom.

http://www.airventure.de/tips_dtmb_2.htm

The individual aircraft letter 'N' is still clearly visible, as is the location of what's left of the Viking longship insignia.

Regards,

Paul

Re: KGr100 He 111H down in a snowstorm on lake in Norway

In fact a logbook, there is, but really need one hv a better copy than mine, I could tell that he started from Aalborg at 07h30 nd probably crash at 09h30 after 420 km , obviously something is written to explain everything happened , but unlesbar , as probably told Casimir, he flew 2 days later but from Trondheim

Hi!
I have two timeframes on this flight, one the one you mention and one that have the same start of flight but a chrash time at 14.30.
Aalborg is in Denmark and Trondheim is in middle of Norway, would think 420km is too short on this flight?
Did he landed for fuel some other place in this flight?

Is the log book avaviable for a copy?

John Fredrik
