What happened to Wilhelm Szuggar

Morning Guys

Another reasonably successful pilot who just vanishes from the scene.

His claims were:-

14th August 1938 1./JG88 Uffz I-16 (Spain) Nr.1
14th August 1938 1./JG88 Uffz I-16 (Spain) Nr.2
4th October 1938 1./JG88 Uffz I-15 (Spain) Nr.3
12th November 1938 1./JG88 Uffz I-16 (Spain) Nr.4
3rd January 1939 1./JG88 Uffz I-15 (Spain) Nr.5
18th December 1939 10./JG26 Fw Wellington 25-35km South-South-West of Helgoland 1430 hrs Nr.6
6th July 1941 3./JG54 Ofw R-5 0450 hrs Nr.7
6th July 1941 3./JG54 Ofw I-16 0520 hrs Nr.8
9th October 1941 3./JG54 Ofw Jak-1 1330 hrs Nr.9
9th October 1941 3./JG54 Ofw MiG-1 1712 hrs Nr.10

Assume he went into training. I have no loss information for him at all, and the only other details I know is that he also flew for II./JG52 at sometime(but when I have no idee). Does anybody please have a Date of Birth, Date of Death, details about any grade of Spanienkreuz he might have received, or just what he did after 1941?

Grateful as ever for any assistance on this pilot.

Kind Regards

Johannes

Re: What happened to Wilhelm Szuggar

I have him as having been assigned to J/88, JG 26, JG 52 & JG 54, but no other details other than what Johannes listed with Szuggar's claims.

Re: What happened to Wilhelm Szuggar

Willi Szuggar, a double ace with 5 five victories in each war he participated, was born 28 june 1913 in Babillen; got the SK in Gold and the Cruz de Guerra for his duty in Spain. The 'gap' in his operational career was because entered in Arado AG as test pilot. I think he also belongued to JG52. I do not know the date of his death but was still alive at 1998. I have many photos, discharge papers and other docs from him.
Regards
Francisco

Re: What happened to Wilhelm Szuggar

Hello Francisco,

Do you know the dates when Uffz. W. Szuggar arrived and left Spain? Did he share any information about his tour of duty there?
