Re: Fw 58 of Luftflottennachrichtenschule 4, 30 March 1941
Thanks Eric,
A surprise for me that these four killed aircrew. None of them are on the Volksbund database, as they probably were buried in family graves. The same unit lost , according to the same source, another Fw 58 near Chambery, France, on 30 March 1943. I found no trace of it, but there is a Fw 58 wreck in the Lac du Bourget in this area, that several websites said crashed in 1944. One gives the date of 30 March 1944, identifies it as the Fw 58 WNr 3652 (2 crew killed, 2 saved) from Lyon-Bron (the base of Luftflottennachrichtenschule 4 at this time). Edited: here is the link: http://www.cpalb.fr/avion.php Can someone confirm this second loss as well ? Seems my original source is rather unreliable... Thanks in advance Laurent |
