Re: Trying to confirm forced-landing of He111 of 9./KG4, 5J+KT, in Norway during spring of 1940--probably at Fornebu
Hi Larry,
1H+ES carried the KG26 'vestigium leonis' emblem on both sides of the nose. A good shot from 11 o'clock position during the dismantling at the crash site clearly shows the unit emblem under the cokpit. The caption in the book has it as mid-blue shield and a white lion being an aircraft of 8./KG26. Photo is from Bundesarchiv Koblenz. The same page has a smaller photo upon which the emblem can be discerned on the starboard side o the nose.
