If the two sections on that bit of the film are one and the same event (it looks like they probably are although the target a/c in the first clip of the film is much further away and it's not easy to see what it is) the 'preview notice' just beforehand says 6th October 1944. Anyone know what happened to the poor guys in the Mossie? Ian ps Sorry Hans, we do seem to have drifted well off your original question about the i/d and location of the Lancaster being strafed. |

Please don't start on that, I only posted the other link for the sake of information, as you see the incident is no secret and has been discussed before.
Would much rather know the serial of the Lanc originally under discussion. |

No offence intended nor, I hope, taken. Just teasin' re Hans's ancestry as that's what the fighter pilots thought. But seriously, as pointed out, the thread has drifted a bit so like you say it'd be interesting if we could find out anything about the Lanc. No clues as far as I could see in the film. Ian |
