Aircraft ID from an oxygen bottle ??

Hi Chaps and ladies,

I've taken a rubbing from an oxygen bottle found by a diver rolling around on the sea bed off the south Cornish coast . . .the bits I've found are :

" SAUERST OFF
LEER 2.21 KG FULL 150 ATU
11.10.40 "

(Note , there is then a circle with the following inside : TU 9 )

Then :

" 293480
87144
Luftwaffe
PR 225 ATUZ. 02 LTR "

There is an umlaut about letters ' U ' . . .my apologies to our German friends for my keyboard not having this key ! So what do you think ? Can we identify the aircraft from the dteails given ?

I look forward to your views.

Andy.

No is the simple answer. Bottles were interchangeable

Well, as Chris wrote you - it was standard Zylinderflasche used as well for oxygen (Sauerstoff, as you have noticed) but also compressed air (Pressluft) i.e. for weapons operating.
One can find those bottles in many german planes.
It must have come from an earlier plane cause later more popular ball shaped Kugelflaschen for oxygen storing were used.
Your bottle is in much beter condition than mine is, where it's impossible to find any sign or even paint.

Thanks Kuba - I guess there can't be many Luftwaffe losses over Cornwall before October 1940 ! Cheers,

Andy.
