Heinrich Schnuer KG2

Hello

I am looking for the names and details of the crew who served in KG2 who were killed on the 24th April 1944 and what the intended target was i believe they may be buried in Salternwood and were flying the JU-188 aircraft.
Many thanks

Regards Steven

Re: Heinrich Schnuer KG2

Hi Steven,

The following extracted from Ulf Balke's book in section Die Verluste des Kampfgeschwaders 2 1941 - 1945;

Target: Bristol.
Junkers Ju 188E-1
Wnr.180413
Code: U5 + GH
Location: Arne, Dorset.

Crew: Source WASt Verlustmeldung:

Pilot: Leutnant. Wolfgang Christoff (57358/?) - Killed.
Observer: Unteroffizier. Heinrich Schnuer (57358/493) - Killed.
Radio/Op: Obergefreiter. Wolfgang Biegerl (57358/478) - Killed.
Gunner: Obergefreiter. Theo Joretzki (57358/440) - Killed.
Gunner: Feldwebel. Horst Huffzky (We.Bez.Zentr.Dresden Nr.17) - Killed.

Note: Christoff, Schnuer, Joretzki and Huffzky are laid to rest at Wareham Cemetery, I cannot find any burial details for Wolfgang Biegerl? Could this be your man?

This document is a poor copy and difficult to read.
I also have a copy of the A.I.(g) & A.I.(k) Reports regarding this aircraft.
Please send me a PM with your e-mail address and I will scan them in.

Kind regards,

Melvin

Horst Huffsky + - Wareham/Gb. - Block B Reihe O Grab 27 (bs) Ogefr. Theophil Joretzki + - Wareham/Gb. - bl.B,re.O,gr.30A (188E-1,U5+GH)(180414
