Re: Leck He 162s
Hi Olivier,
thank you very much for the update! That's exact what I'm locking for. Some questions I have: April 1st 1945 W.Nr. 310018 should be flown by Uffz. Dobrat from Bernburg to Unterschlauenbach. Next day Uffz. Dobrat came back to Bernburg and told that he couldn`t land there, because the airport was captured by the US troops. He sat down the plane somewhere east to Nuernberg. (source Eric Mombeek, Reichsverteidigung Die Geschichte des Jagdgeschwaders 1 "Oesau") Did 310018 ever arrive the JG 1?? Do you know pics of 120235 with original german markings. I only know the one showing the left side of the plane with british markings. In your listing White 21 (black nosed) has the W.Nr 120221. Compare the camouflage with White 3(120028 ), White 1(120013??could you tell me your source for that?) and 120029 (12th He 162 built at Heinkel's Marienehe/Rostock facility) The camouflage system of all these planes are the same. Are you sure about the hight Werknumber of White 21? Cheers, Simon |

Re: Leck He 162s
Hi Simon
i must edit the .doc file with some question marks when the W.Nr. are not 100% sure. * Did 310018 ever arrive the JG 1?? >> Rgr there is conflicting information there * Do you know pics of 120235 with original german markings. >> No, but you can guess the overpainted "3" on the one showing the left side of the plane with british markings. * In your listing White 21 (black nosed) has the W.Nr 120221. Are you sure about the hight Werknumber of White 21? >> W.Nr. 120221 info come from J.C.Mermet and P.Couderchon, i think they have some photo to say that, same as for white 27 since they can say her nose is not colored. We will need to wait for their probable book about He 162 to know more... >> Dont mix, there is two "white 21" and both black nosed. The first is though to be 120017 and is visible at Ludwiglust, the other is 120221 from Leck in the middle of the right column (see attached jpg) |

I think we don't talk about the same plane: 120235 should be "red 2" The overpainted yellow 3 is 120072 Quote:
Do you maybe have an email-adress from J.C.Mermet and P.Couderchon? Nice Greetings from Vienna, Simon |

Re: Leck He 162s
To get all these infos here is great. I tried to find these W.Nr.s in many books, but without a result. The reason why I need all these Information is the try to draw profiles of all these planes flown by JG 1. I attached one of these planes.
Very interesting fact: See the well known pic of Yellow 3 flown by Lt. G. Stiemer with the emblem under the cockpit. W.Nr. 120072. Now compare this pic with pics after the plane has been overpainted with british markings. The original one has no red arrow. The british version of the plane has one! Cheers, Simon |

Re: Leck He 162s
* typo of course 120235 is overpainted "2" not "3", you can check this by yourself.
* about yellow3 red arrow > I first though British painted it since it's a rather unusual small one. But white 6 also had this same small one. And then P.Couderchon told me the Germans continue to paint markings on their planes even after surrender. A third solution could be a changed nose, but bright nose were rare so this third solution is doubtfull. What is the truth? |

Re: Leck He 162s
Hi Guys,
Thanks for the List. Very informative. I do have a question, what is the source of the info that 120067, White 4 at Kassel, had it's tail switched with 120097. And why? I've seen several pictureds of White 4 at Kassel and none show a tail number. The one picture I have seen of White 4 at Leck is marginal at best. Thanks, Walt |

Re: Leck He 162s
Olivier!
Did you have time to update your list? Do you also have a listing about the planes flown by JG 1 earlier, but were lost before they were handed over to the british troops in Leck? I'm need the W.Nr of Yellow 5 flown by Friedrich Enderle, 3./JG 1, Ludwigslust April 1945. Enderel lost his life on April 13th 1945 while flying that plane. The camouflage is typical for the Bernburg planes. So W.Nr should start with 310... Cheers, Simon |

Re: Leck He 162s
I recently saw a photo of 3 He 162s following capitulation setting inan open shed,i.e., roof only. I was unable to copy the image and made onle notes, which indicated that the W.Nr. was 3??110, it is possible the second and third digits were 1 and 5. Does this make any sense? If so, would that give any indication as to the location?
Best regards, Artie Bob |

Re: Leck He 162s
* Hi Artie,
Could you tell us more: - where have you seen the image: book, web site, ebay? - were the airplanes with camo or not, with wings and jet engines or not? - in any case W.Nr. must be in the 300... or 310... range, not 315... * Hi Simon, - Unfortunately, got not enough free time to add all those question marks, i prefer to make you wait a little but post only one corrected file. - About Enderle i m like you, got only the 2 photos from E.Mombeeck published in Defenders of the Reich V3 and the lost list published in his older "Defending the Reich" so no W.Nr.... Indeed i agree camo and not visible gun so it's an A-1 in the 310... W.Nr. range. |
