Help solve a mystery: seeking ID of Bf110C with 7 white victory tabs on fin from BoB Period

Hello,

I hope someone here can help solve a mystery. I have a close-up photo of the starboard fin of a green camouflaged Bf110C that shows seven white victory tabs, all with RAF roundels at the top of the tab, and below at an angle across the middle is written in German script the type and location of the victory claimed. There are no other markings visible to indicate the unit, W.Nr. or the dates for the victory tabs. They are:

1) Hurricane - Dünkirchen
2) Hurricane- London
3) Hurricane - London
4) Hurricane - London
5) Hurricane - London
6) Spitfire - Bristol
7) Spitfire - Southampt.

With this information, can anyone figure out whose victory scoreboard this would be? There really weren't that many Zerstörer pilots with seven victory claims from this period. However, there are quite a few from ZG2 and ZG26 whose claims totals we don't even know for sure.

Thanx,

Larry Hickey

The claim for Bristol is making me think 25 or 27 September 1940.

Just a theory!

Andy,

Thanx. If I can narrow this down to a couple of units, I might be able to track through pilot victory claims back to one that matches these mission location and types. That's what I'm looking for.

Hello Larry,

In the book "Zerstorer - Luftwaffe Colours Vol.1 Luftwaffe Fighter-Bombers And Destroyers 1936-1940" by JJ Vasco, P75 there is such green camouflaged Bf110 displaying 7 white victory tabs.
Is it that one? I don't think you missed it ; but, who knows?

Regards, Franck.

Hello Larry,

Should I consider it's a different one? I'd not be surprised anyway ...

Cheers, Franck.

Hello,

Finally got this link set up to post this photo. This is a somewhat unusual format for a victory scoreboard, so identifying ones that look similar from known pilots/units, might be the clue that helps solve this mystery:
