Questions about "Classic Publications" numbers

This book here has the Nr. 22 of the series...

And this book has the Nr. 18 of the series:

What about Nr 19, 20 and 21? Did I miss something?

Re: Questions about "Classic Publications" numbers

Dear CortoM,

If you'll note, the Fw 190 volume is Volume One in a series. It is likely that the number for Volume Two will be Nr. 19. The 4-volume set on the Me 262 was produced over a number of years and the books were Nr's. 3, 4, 5, & 6. Whether there will be a Volume Three and Four in the Fw 190 series, I can't predict. But one could easily see Chevron reserving Nr's. 20 & 21 for spin off volumes covering the Fw 190D and Ta 152.

Regards,
Richard

Re: Questions about "Classic Publications" numbers

I think Richard is on the right track.
From FalkeEins review of Classic Publications volume 1 of the Focke Wulf 190 title:
Quote:
Now released is Volume I covering all aspects of the development and service introduction of the 190 Anton in a primarily photographic format over a massive 336 pages.

Volume 2 will cover all remaining production versions of the Fw190 A, Fw190 F and Fw190 G, engine developments, and operations on all fighting fronts from June 1943 to June 1944.

Volume 3 will be devoted to the Fw190 D-series, operations with the aircraft until the end of the war, projects and foreign use.

There is also the possibility of a fourth volume, if there is sufficient interest to make it economically viable. It "...would include a very large number of detailed drawings in addition to photographs. These would, for example, provide aircraft modellers with the most detailed information available from the prototypes through to the Fw190 D-series. In addition a detailed section on camouflage and markings would be included.

I hope Classic produces these titles but who knows ...

Re: Questions about "Classic Publications" numbers

I think it is mentioned in the foreword for the first volume of the Fw series that the next volume should cover the later radial-engines marks, 3rd volume the D and the Ta 152 and if the sales of the first volumes are sufficient a volume 4 with extra material.

Re: Questions about "Classic Publications" numbers

Anyone have a complete list of the above series? I have both the Fw190 and the Ju87 book.

Always wondered why a book hasn't been done (in comparable style) on the Me109.

The sheer scale of the task and finding an author willing and able to take it on?

Re: Questions about "Classic Publications" numbers

I'd love to have a comprehensive book about the 109, preferably concentrating on the technical and developmental aspects of it (especially answering why were some modifications carried out) and answering how the 109K had much higher VNE than the 109G.
