Classic did publish a book on the '109, Messerschmitt Bf 109 Recognition Manual, by Marco Fernández-Sommerau, which did not live up to the expectations. A new, comprehensive book is indeed needed (strange fact, after so many books on the topic have been published).

Late 109 Gs had higher VNE (850 km/h IAS up to 1 km, and 800 km/h up to 3 km if fitted with older airspeed indicator, or 850 km/h up to 5 km with altitute-compensated indicator), if fitted with the following modifications:

- enlarged fin and rudder
- horizontal stabilizer travel limited to +1º 10'
- increased width elevator tabs
- reinforced ailerons

109Ks were fitted with those in series.
