Do you have some more information about pilots from this aircrafts ?
All information like: history of this pilots, information about places where they were hitted (KIA/MIA) , pictures of aircrafts , ... etc - it will be nice to see or read.
Of course you can add all missing above Werk Nr with numbers: 490xxx but I would like to ask only from JG3.
It is very interesting for me how much aircrafts Bf109G10 with Werk Nr's 490xxx was sent to JG3 from Erla in period of 1944/45 .

Best regards,
Kris

Question Re: JG3- Bf109G10-production:Erla-Werk Nr's.:490xxx

Dears ,

1)
My collegue which preparing model of Bf109G10 Werk Nr. 490362 made by ERLA Leipzig need some photos with open cabine and view inside aircraft.
Can you attache some photos or links to view Bf109G10 (only with ERLA Haube) ? Rabeler's Bf109G10 has got ''panzer glass'' behind his head. We need to see some details inside.
Can you write some more about used ''heating'' inside cabin for aircrafts with batch 490xxx ?

''...I don´t know, what it is yet, but I think, it is maybe rest of pressurized cockpit (G-10s were rebuilded from older versions..) or, and according me more probably, with some modification of heating on cockpit area (Bf 109Gs and Ks were a lot of problems with an iceing of cockpit cover)...."'

I know only this link:

2)
Another question about enginee used in Bf109G10 (made by Erla)"

"'...From page 158:

"It was obviously intended to carry out the conversions of older airframes in a standard manner. In fact, however, attempts to achieve a standard model G-10 quite obviously failed, because the G-10 appeared in the same plethora of variants as did the G-6 and G-14. An essential component of the modernization was to have been the installation of the DB 605 D engine, which was supposed to enter quantity production in the autumn of 1944. Obviously, however, the engine was not available in sufficient numbers at the beginning of the G-10 program, and many of the first machines from production batches 490000 and 491000 were fitted with the DB 605 AS and were accordingly designated as the G-10/AS" ..."'

How you think which engine could be installed in Gunter Rabeler Bf109G10 Werk Nr 490362 aircraft ? (DB605D or DB605AS ? )

on the technical data plate (see attached photo) from aircraft is visible only: ''....0'' without AS, .... .
For me the moust probably is DB605D but .... what you think about this information above ?

Look right corner up (vissible only ''0"') - I can add better photo if needed:

Note:
Gunter Rabeler was from Stab I , 2./JG3 , I think his unit get first Bf109G10's fom ERLA in period xx.10/12.1944:

Have You confirmed sources (reports) when Werk Nr.:490362 could be delivered to this unit ?

Maybe You know whot type of engine was used in this aircrafts ?
