Re: Junkers JU 88 wreck off Selinunte beach
Hi, Ginklo...
Sorry, but I think it's definitely a Ju88. The aileron attachments on the wing are very distinctive. Regards, Paul |

Re: Junkers JU 88 wreck off Selinunte beach
For DB601:
thank you for your help, I don't esitate to ask you in the future. I know that usually on the tail is very often visible the w.n., but the tail that also if all my friends remember well to have seen at end of 70' on the seabed, now it's not visible, may be under the sand ? I or my friend must to explore around the wreck but we must have time and good weather but will do this in the next months. For Ginko: it'is not a me 109 because only the left wing (without wing tip) I check 9 meters long. I'm sorry that I cannot show other pics because appears the message that I'm out of memory also if in page of download I have more than 2 mega still available. Best regards Francesco Maria Lentini |

Re: Junkers JU 88 wreck off Selinunte beach
Right ODBL 3945,
the sign that finally conviced me (it'is a JU 88 ) after that the plane was an all metal twin engin, were the typical aileron attachments that we can see clearly in one of the pics. Best regards Francesco Maria Lentini |

Re: Junkers JU 88 wreck off Selinunte beach
Thank you Ginklo,
I know this web site and the page but unfortunately there are some errors: first of all that is a monoplane (sic). The pics were taken at the end of July, but be shure that at the end of august also the right wing was visible; in October less visible the right, more the left. Best Regards Francesco Maria Lentini |
