Re: Need info on early war history and a/c markings of Lt Helmut Wick
Ed,
Thanx for continuing to take the time to support the EoE Project. Unfortunately, in this case the photo is grossly mis-captioned, as it shows neither Wick nor his a/c. IIRC Karl Ries says the aircraft tail is that of Otto Bertram (another source claims it is Siegfried Schnell's--or maybe he inherited it when Bertram left). Schnell is the one on the left behind the tailplane, with "Assi" Hahn next to him putting on his glove. Wick is neither of the other two. Since Bertram was an RK winner, the tail of this a/c will relate to another, later profile in the EoE Project series. So will the a/c of both Schnell and Hahn. Larry Hickey EoE Project Coordinator |

Re: Need info on early war history and a/c markings of Lt Helmut Wick
Avions 124, did a special issue in 2003 that included Wick.
