Luft markings help?
Hello everyone, this is my first post here, I'm primarily a helmet collector, and my reason for posting here is, I recently obtained an early war Luftwaffe helmet, and on the chinstrap is stamped J.GR. II/23(or possibly 234). Could anyone tell me what this would stand for in Luftwaffe terminology? Your help would be very much appreciated, regards,
Andrew |

Re: Luft markings help?
Hi Andrew,
if it indeed reads II./234, it could make some sense: it might be related to II. Gruppe / Jagdgeschwader 234 (2nd Group of Fighter Wing 234), a pre-war unit based in Düsseldorf in 1938. J. Gr. could be the abbreviation for Jagdgruppe (Fighter Group) therefore. HTH Regards Matthias |
