Re: Lympne during Dunkirk - some questions
Dear Matt,
The book you mention is called The Air Battle of Dunkirk, by Norman Franks, and I have a copy but it does not contain any accounts from RAF pilots that mention the Armee de la Air on 31st May 1940. There is brief mention of two Hurricane Sqns and one Bloch Sqn setting off on 1st Hune 1940 to patrol Dunkirk but still no mention of the other Sqns - but they just might be 145 Sqn or 43 Sqn As for 66 Sqn RAF this was a unit equipped with Spitfires and was based at RAF Horsham St Faith from 16th May 1940 and then RAF Coltishall from 29th May 1940. I will look for more details soon
