Erla Bf 109 E WNr.4136. Lif Special N°3.
Good morning Gentlemen,
The following picture is an extract of LiF Special N°3 back cover. It is depicting a Bf 109 E-7, WNr.4136. (Personally I see no armored plate inside canopy and no pointed nose and Erla production batch range is not helpful since it does include Bf 109 E-4/B and E-7; so why not) This is not the point. What I want to know is: What is that MG installation on wing, with that quite unusual fairing which looks like a BSK fairing??? (Note, I didn’t say it was a BSK installation though the gun tube seems to be “melted” with wing leading edge.) Regards, Franck. PS: By the way Weisse 21 wears the 1.(Einsatz)/ Erg.Gr. JG 26 marking characteristics displayed (for example) in Wevelgem, 1941. Last edited by ouidjat; 1st July 2013 at 17:35. |
