Well, no one lists someone as crashing into the sea, but this might be a candidate:
Fw190A-8, WNr 170740, Fischer, Ltn. Wolfgang, 3.JG 2gelbe1 +, 07-Jun-44, POW after Luftkampf with Spitfires and P-47s. FSA., Ring, JG 2 loss list, p.25; Frappé, La LW face au débarquement allié, p.16, 313; Ver-Sur-Mer. In spite of the listing as lost by Spitfires and P-47s, this location is right on the coast of Normandy and is in the British invasion area which, presumably, the Mosquitos might have been covering. |
