Re: Spitfire Mk IX EN522
Alex
The only extra detail I could find was in Fighter Command War Diaries by Foreman. He states the aircraft was shot down by Flak near Vannes on a Rhubarb mission. I in turn wonder why an aircraft belonging to a unit with ADGB was on a Rhubarb to France. I thought 2nd TAF was dealing with all offensive work by day at this stage, but obviously that is wrong. Re: Spitfire Mk IX EN522
Hello Stig,
Thank you for the reply. I had not looked at Formans vols so the extra is welcome, Who Shot him down is now a question. Which Flak Unit, Germans or Allies, is it known I wonder ? Thanks again Alex |
