Re: Help needed with ID Luftwaffe fighter - Pommern 1945.

My thoughts are that maybe it is a different aircraft. BMW engines were used in at least the Ju52 and Ju88 among others. Fu16 radios had to be common in different aircraft.

I continue to scour the books and documents I have for the Fw190, and looking at the collection of parts, but still nothing is conclusive.

Hi Tony,
This wreck is clearly FW 190 A-8/9 or F-8, which indicates that some specific part in a photo album (picasaweb..)

Jarek

Re: Help needed with ID Luftwaffe fighter - Pommern 1945.

Hi Jarek, Thanks for answer - we should also remember about Fw190 F8 used in this area by pilots SG3.
This aircraft was hitted on the South area of Stettin - I think in March 1945. (At wrack was mounted also MG131)
I will measure thickness of "panzer plate" ( I wonder if it is 6 or 10 mm) - I going to check it.

Re: Help needed with ID Luftwaffe fighter - Pommern 1945.

Do you have photo (example) how it could be painted ? Which unit(s) painted this part with white colour ?

Hi Chris

I can not give you an answer! But this are the remains of a propeller. I once heard somewhere that the spinner spiral was further painted on propeller blades. On fighters I've never seen it, maybe on fighter-bombers? Do you have more pictures of parts? 13mm ammunition, a FuG16 and a BMW801 do not belonging to a Fw 190.

Re: Help needed with ID Luftwaffe fighter - Pommern 1945.

I have seen them on fighters, fighter-bombers and bombers in all sorts of schemes
For example one of Jg54.

Reiner: What are you're reasons for stating so firmly that it is a prop blade?

My experience, form, corrosion and the color compared with my photos tell me it´s a propeller!
