At this time, German times were an hour ahead of ours. If the attacker did not see it crash, they would have not claimed this aircraft. Simon Parry notes that Oblt Kurt Herrmann of 1/NJG 2 claimed a Blenheim near Waddington at 0140 hrs-again this is nowhere near. An Oxford of 2 CFS was probably Bönsch's victim-crashed at Fulbeck 2308 hrs which matches with his claim of 0010 hrs.
A Ju 88 of 3/NJG 2 returned with 15% damage that night-how this was caused I do not know

The damaged Ju 88 of 3/NJG 2 is interesting. Is there any possibility that a German record of the encounter could have survived?

As no aircraft was shot down no report would have been submitted & in any case German combat reports are very rare
