Hello!

Can you rercommend books describing air war over Italy and Sicily between 1943 and 1945?
I only have "Spitfires over Sicily".

Thank you

Dominik

Ali Straniere in Italia No5 - Aerei Francesi nella Regia Aeronautica.

Details the use of French Aircraft in the RA, especially the use of the Dewoitine 520 over Sicily and Italy circa 1943-44 - English/Italian text.

Thank you for all hints. What is most suprising is that most of the books are about Axis. Nevertheless, it's time to start saving money.

Re: Books about Air War over Italy and Sicily 1943-45

The books on the axis air forces are just a few of the ones recommended so far, but there are many others on the allied side of the equation. Here's a few more:

Spitfires over Sicily
(One of the authors – Brian Cull – is a regular to this forum.)

Beaufighters in the Night
(About the 417 NF Squadron USAAF, operating from Corsica over Italy and Southern France.)

Shark Squadron
(112 Sqn RAF – over the Desert and Italian Campaigns)

Straight Down
(By Peter Smith, is about the North American A-36 Mustang/Apache Dive-bomber, covers Sicily and Italian Campaigns and operations from Corsica…as well as Burma.)

Books on the Tuskeegee Airmen.

Regards,
...geoff
