Thanks for the gen. Quite a gathering of RN aircrew aboard the Anson. Sub-Lt Angus Hogg DSC+ was one of the FAA's top-scoring fighter pilots. The pilot, Royal Marine Capt Skeets Harris DSC was also a former FAA fighter pilot, while Lt Grubby Going DSO (former Swordfish observer and Taranto veteran), had only one leg to break - he'd lost the other when the carrier Illustrious was bombed at Malta in January 1941. Sub-Lt (D.H.?) Richards may also have been a former fighter pilot. Cheers Brian Last edited by Brian; 4th November 2013 at 18:52. |
