Hello Kris,

P-47 serial number looks like 44-21056 "Jeanie" ? so P-47D-30-RE of the 57th FG 65th FS.

Re VZ-S, Another photo of her is on page 110 of Spitfire the Canadians.vol 1.
Caption says:
"On 11th June 1944 F/O H.G. Garwood of 412 Squadron suffered an engine failure.
He managed to return to his squadron a few days later.#His Spitfire IX, (MJ255) is shown here on June 17th 1944.
Passing by are Canadian Shermans moving up for the attack on Tilly-sur-Seulles.

Photo is a little different to the one shown in this thread, so perhaps they are stills from a film ?
