Re: Fw190 to ID with Ju52
Kris,
The Ju 52 in the background has the code 1Z+(F)L from 3./TG 1, this group was active over East Prussia late 1944 to early 1945. Two Fw 190 equipped I.Gruppe units were there at the same time. I./JG 1 never had markings in the form “chevron number” applied so this aircraft must have belonged to I./SG 3. This is supported by the lack of outer wing canons which indicates a Schlacht aircraft.

Re: Fw190 to ID with Ju52
Hi Kris and Merlin,
I don't have any details about this particular Fw 190, but some remarks about its location: If "<3+" was also found at "Groß-Dershkayn" then this is another good indicator for I./SG 3 being its parent unit. Groß Dirschkeim, as it was actually spelt, was located right next to Brüsterort airfield, where, you guess it, I./SG 3 was based from 2/45 to 5/45... Cheers, Christian |
