The pic you just post is absolutely amazing , they clearly show E-3 wings weaponery
configuration , My goal here is try to duplicate most of the E serie know for this time of the war many of them well know have been all ready done , and I m chasing the one I never ear off and try to duplicated them , E-3 and E-4 identification have any impact in the game as the 3d model of the wings look the same , but E-1 wings and E-7 propeller spinner seem to be a pain in the A...... loll Like Thomas I will need to see to belive , it seem I cannot believe any thing right on profile , paint sheme or even serie number cause they seem to be a lot of speculation , in the same time I m trying to identify them and some of the pilot who fly them the best I can, I know I cannot replicated the complet fleet of Luftwaffe 109 fighter for the war but my favorite parts the one with 109 E serie will be a most ,all ready have many hundred of them collecting them for years.... .I have a amazing ww2 warbird collection here , now I m just trying to find new one , and identify the one I didn t know....

I was inform about 109 e serie delive to spain before march 39 but king of late to be operational , I also know they have some e-3 delivery to them but we not really know when e-3 get there after all spain got 109 f serie too and the pic I have found show clearly E-3 without the civil war marking but new spain rondel ..

Larry
Thanks for the book I will try to find it on e bay but infortunaly I cannot read german at all only French and English here , many of the book I got in my collection are typical info you can find anywere , many are fighter pilot biography on both side but it 's strange how in all those book we cannot find and learn any information useable for use , it like they are not detailed annoff....When were ,with , how .....they don t even take about the the plane most of the time....

I was award of a good book serie like that call "red star black cross with detailed" information about plane and unit but it s not on this periods...

So don t be surprise if I ask you so many question about paint sheme release detail , pilot identification , staffel ,unite , serie model...ext ext lollll

Cheer Eric

Re: Hole Der Geier 109e-1

VonWaffen,

1) Your ambition is admirable. You are trying to duplicate a lot of work that we're doing on the "Eagles Over Europe" project, where we'll eventually do 900 - 1000 meticulously accurate 5-view aircraft profiles for the Bf109 during the 1939-40 period. Several hundred are already finished. We have almost 10,000 Bf109 photos from the 1939-40 period to draw upon for our visual information. I know that that is many more photos then the entire number of Bf109s produced up to the end 1940.

2) The JFV series that I recommended is not a single book, but 5 volumes (through the end of 1940), with probably @ 20 volumes now in print that is nearing completion for all units in all theaters through the end of 1943. They include thousands of photos, and, even if you don't read German, you will get a tremendous amount of benefit from them. You will really find it impossible to do what you are planning without them.

3) There were many Bf109E-3s in front line service with Luftwaffe units during September, 1939.

Regards,

Larry Hickey
