Oblt Paul-Adalbert Bärwolf, 3/NAG 13
The above was shot down by Flak & POW 19 Jul 44. However:
1. He claimed to be the first German pilot to spot the invasion fleet on 6 Jun 44. Apart from what he wrote post-war (he became a journalist and died 20 years ago), is there any evidence to support this? 2. On 15 Jun 44, he was apparently shot down in his Bf 109 by P-47s near Bayeux. The only claims by P-47s were by 361 FS/356 FG SE of Rouen-can anyone substantiate the date and location? |

Chris
This is taken from Nick B's. website. http://www.ghostbombers.com/recon/109/nag13_1.html In addition I actually own Barwolf's Wehrpas and can confirm, or should be able to, based on the entries that he went down on 15/6/44. I will take a look this evening. Do you have anything else on Barwolf? Regards Jeremy |

Yes rather interesting for me as well so I need to thank you for rattling me out of my slumber on this group. These groups as you know are always getting broken up, a shame to be sure.
It substantiates his EK1 which I was not sure was a legit entry in his WP and I notice he had a combo FF/ BO abzeichen also not listed. Hopefully more will surface. Jeremy |

It seems nothing more than extracts of what you have read before Chris. Where did the author get this WNr.710091/Gelbe 13? Any Idea? Regards, Franck. |

Hello Franck,
Werknummer is from an ULTRA-report in HW5/515. As for code, I have no clue. Carl

Re: Oblt Paul-Adalbert Bärwolf, 3/NAG 13
Hello,
Thanks Nick, that’s what I believed I understood following your note on page 2: – “Note: From the known examples above, the number against each aircraft corresponds to its tactical marking.” - Hence WNr.750 091 was “Gelbe 3”… But I wasn’t sure. Regards, Franck. |
