Re: Flugbuch - a book about a particular individual
Hi Dénes,
As you know, some small publishers are difficult to reach, and they're usually not set up to deal with international payments either. Fortunately, eBay provides a convenient alternative avenue in this case. Here are links to both Oechsler books:
The first book ("Überlebt") was published some time ago. About 200 pages, consisting of text, good pictorial content and some flugbuch extracts. The second book ("Flugbuch"), which I haven't received yet, appears to be a companion volume, with the complete contents of his Flugbücher. Hope that helps, Leon Venter |

Re: Flugbuch - a book about a particular individual
Hello!
Question for anyone who has obtained this book. Can you verify that Stukaflieger Emil Oechsler flew with III/SG 2? It looks like that as the map shows the unit returning to Rumania from Skangali, Latvia. For me the period in Baltic area June 1944 would be the most important part of the book. I would not like to purchase the book and then find that there is nothing of interest for me. So I am not asking any copy, but just if the pilot was in Baltic area June 1944 with III/SG2 (with 10.(Pz)/SG2 and Rudel, actually). Thanking in advance, Kari |
