Dear Kris,

The glass could be from a reconnaissance aircraft. If so, it was used to protect the camera from the outside elements. The Me 262A-1a/U3 had two square glass windows for the cameras.

For a listing of manufacturing codes I suggest obtaining a copy of the book Deutsche Fertigungskennzeichen bis 1945 (German secret armament codes until 1945), by Michael Heidler, Visier-Edition, Visier - Das internationale Waffen-Magazin, 2008.
