MG 131 Serial number 68308

Hello Guys,

I have just registered as Aircraft stuff is not something I encounter a lot of and your site seems to have the sort of know how required.

I live and work in Germany and have just aquired a semi relic MG131 above serial number.

I was wondering if a weapon serial can be matched to an airframe or were these sort of items changed too often?

Thanks for any direction.

I am unable to upload any pictures but they are ready to go!

Jock

Re: MG 131 Serial number 68308

Guys,

Have had to play with the pictures.

It was painted a horrible gloss black but I am 1/2 way through sorting it out.

I can't get the top cover hinge pin out. it only goes a 1/4 way out and I don't want to damage it?

Cheers

Jock

Re: MG 131 Serial number 68308

Guys,

Thank you very much for your thoughts, I kind of guessed that would be the case. I will try the source and see if he knows of its origins or will he even tell me that, I doubt it?

Cheers

Jock
