F/O Allan Triggs 172 Sqn Ditching Report

On 12 August Triggs Wellington ditched, six days later they together with one only surviving member of the Sunderland B/461 crew were rescued by a launch.

Trigg's penned a four page ditching report, has anyone come across it?

I have a copy of an unpublished version by Watson of B/461 (ditching) written whilst interviewed at CC HQ

It would be good to see the comparisons.

Any help very much appreciated.

With thanks in advance

Re: F/O Allan Triggs 172 Sqn Ditching Report

Hello,

The airman concerned is AUS400500 F/O Allan William Russell TRIGGS RAAF (Later MBE, DFC), and the incident occurred on 12 August 1942 (No.172 Sqn Wellington VIII BB503 & No.461 Sqn RAAF Sunderland II T9090:UT-B).

Not quite what you want, but you will find a fairly comprehensive account of the incident here:

See: p.31-2 of 38.

Col.
