Re: Claims of sinking Soviet ships and vessels in the Gulf of Finland 24-25 August 1941

Hellow Andrey

About 17 times - it is from memories probably?
Just do not remember the exact source, but it comes with some official materials about the activities of the Baltic Fleet (WMF KBF). I know, that number is shocking, me too, but I got used to such propaganda (or very exaggerated data) in many studies, regardless of the country of origin. So it already is., :-(

BTW
It is possible, that attacks on 24-25.08 were done by II/KG 77 (or 8 Ju 88 A-4 or A-5 of 5./KG 77). The unit of Hptm. Dietrich Peltz of 5./KG 77 had 8 planes and one was lost on 28.08.41 during attack on Biełomorkanal, shot down by Soviet fighters. They could not hit the main target and during return attacked convoy from Tallinn (if I am right?)

Regards,
mw
