I have the following infomation on the loss of 206 Squadron Hudsons in May 1940. Base. Bircham Newton 3 May 1940. Hudson 1. N7319 VX-C. Operation Reconnaissance. Damaged by Me109 off the Elbe Estuary. 12 May 1940. Hudson I. N7353 VX- Operation Reconnaissance. Shot down north of Baltrum off the coast of Germany. 18 May 1940. Hudson I. N7329 VX- Operation Hamburg. Failed to return. Hudson I. N7400 VX- Operation Hamburg. Failed to return. 19 May 1940. Hudson I. N7363 VX- Operation Photo-Reconnaissance. Shot down some 50 km NW of Heligoland. 22 May 1940. Hudson I. N7402 VX- Operation Reconnaissance. Failed to return from off the German coast. 25 May 1940. Huson I. N7403 VX-N Operation Convoy. Crashed on landing and blew up. The above extracts are taken from 'RAF Coastal Command Losses Volume 1' by Ross McNeill. Regards Peter Clare.
