O-792423 John H. Morgan, 99 Ftr Sqn, 33 Ftr Gp. P-40L, 42-10805, MACR 229( only a couple of pages and if IRC no mention of any combat, just possible engine problem and went into the sea east of Sicily. O-407364 2Lt. William Cecil Kittinger, 33 Ftr Gp. O-796118 William J. Ford, 33 Ftr Gp ? O-796069 John T. Blanks jr, 33 Ftr Gp ? I think that these two a/c may be worth a look, both were earmarked for foreign lands but were not delivered. Perhaps they were retained by the US and sent to North African/Mediterranean ?? P-40N, 42-106013, c/n 29775 meant for Russia, and P-40N, 43-23221 meant for the NEIAF. Good hunting, Alex |
