Hello , i am trying to find out more concerning the Above pilot .

Nco 1080049 William Joseph Johnston .

5 PAFU -May-June 42.
52 OTU , June -Aug 42
Baled out-Safe ,Spitfire P8148, 12/7/42.
132 Sqd, Sept 42.
Possibly 72 Sqd Sept 43 (can anyone confirm this ORB mentions a WJ Johnston but no serial No.

End of Tour June 44 Comm to 189859 11/12/44.Survived War

does anyone know of him trying to contact him or family member

The 72 Sqn Historian is Tom Docherty, who may well be able to help with your queries. He authored the three volume history of 72: 'Swift to Battle'; it covers the period 1937-1961.
