Hi Stig,
No idea why you got the message. Thought it was a PM to Kari. Yes BP140 is BH140. The Russian had issues in the records (not on the airframe) with some of the latin letters so often only the number is recorded. Not in this case as B, P and H are in the cyrillic alphabet. The P was not clear on the record. We know it was not BP140 lost in transit and BH140 arrived around the right time to Russia. Yep, lost around 16th May 1942 in Louhki area as suspected due to the scenery. Pilot MIA. Would have probsbly survived. Still a hard landing though. It would have gone through the ice less than two weeks later. regards Mark |
