We keep seeing requests for 'I would like to contact crew members of...." from new members. We would remind such posters that the chances are getting slimmer by the day-it you were 20 in 1940, you would be 95 now; if you were 20 in 1945 you would be 90 if still alive. Many posters were lucky to contact many 30 years ago and thought they were old at 65. Very, very few are still alive, interested or compos mentis. As to relatives, very hit and miss especially is they are not interested

Yes, WWII veterans are rapidly approaching the status of WWI veterans-gone.
My father, born in 1922, died over 10 years ago and most of his peers have also passed on.
