Some years ago TNA, kindly allowed me to see a file, that could not be read on microfilm as they were written in pencil. On the front and inside front was a warning that under no circumstances must anything be taken, or altered and that this file had once been stolen, was part of the files and documents recovered and that some items in the file may now be missing [or words to that effect]. I absolutely hate theft, it has wrecked a few historical records, such as British Library books. Regarding your other comments, I'll email you.
