Ar234-kill/Freemans "Mighty 8th", 1970/p.219

On 03-14-1945 2nd Ltd Robert E. Barnhart (360. FS/356. FG) shot down the empty autopiloted Ar 234 in the area around Bielefeld, after pilot Feldwebel Bäumler bailed out (P-38 damaged his Arado before).

Photos and a brief report is issued in Roger A. Freemans book "The Mighty Eighth", 1970 - page 219.

Can anybody confirm this? Did Barnhart watch the crash after he opened fire?

I am looking for any hint regarding the crashsite of this Arado.

Best Regrads,
TCO

Hello TCO,

You may find useful to check directly the photocopy of Barnhart´s Encounter Report:

Hope this helps a little,
