Thank you also for your help.

The signature certainly does look like 'Krug'.

The 3. Flughafenbetriebskompanie assignment is also mentioned in the Luftwaffe Officer Career Summaries compiled by Larry de Zang and Doug Stankey however, I still cannot find anything as yet to establish a connection for Krug with 3./KG 53.

Hopefully, someone might be able to add some further information.

maybe Krug was provisional StaKa for lack of officers?

That is indeed a possibility however, the question I have is that would someone assigned to the Flughafenbetriebskompanie actually be qualified to take on the function and responsibilities of a Staffelführer?

The more I look at the signature I read 'Krug' however, I just want to be sure it is in fact him.
