Re: Late war Bf 109 pictures source
Hello Marc-Andre'
if this is a Erla Werknummer 50.278,it is RLM Werknummer 151.992, a Bf 109 G10/R6, manufactured late March 1945 and then "abgestellt". That means, the completely finished aircraft was not delivered to Luftwaffe, but simply put on storage at the manufacturer, presumably not even having a BAL Abnahme. There are quite a few newly a/c put aside in March/April 1945. I can only guess on the reasons for this, perhaps lack of gas, perhaps no need for Bf 109s any more, perhaps no pilots for acceptance or delivery. Rasmussen is the expert on Erla, perhaps he can enlighten us. Cheeers Carl
