Re: About "Black 3" at Halle

I'm sorry Chris, but I can't see a black border around the number. I guess that the border you see is from when the number was painted, the border is painted first and the rest is filled in, and probably not with as much paint in the brush as the border.

Re: About "Black 3" at Halle

I can now see that the W.Nr. most probably was 601090, but the photo showing 601095 looks rather convincing to.
Not to be disrespectful guys, but what are the real evidence for it to be "Black 3" and not "Blue 3", lacking the white border?
Is there some report mentioning "Black 3"?
It's interesting if it's correct that the vet marked the photo "Blue 3"!

If one is simply comparing photographs to the wealth of 8./JG 6 birds captured on film, argument for black can be quite convincing, especially when whatchamacallit here is extensively photographed in numerous angles and lighting conditions.

Of course, it's definitely not cut-and-dried, but lacking the right piece of information, it'll make for a plausible assumption.

Confusing she is, that much I do know.

Re: About "Black 3" at Halle

The biggest problem for me is that I don't think the paint is black enough in most pictures of Black 3. Black 8, W.Nr. 500581 and Black 4 W.Nr. 211939, on the other hand, looks black enough in the photos I have seen.

I like your blog Jasate! I don't agree on all the colours you have used for your profiles, but I like it!
