Hello!
Might have been instrument training arrangement, too. Pilot wearing blue goggles would not see throught the orange cockpit panels but would see the Instruments. I think this was widely used in yesterdays. Swedish air force Mosquitos for example had such organge panels on canopy. Cheers, Kari
