12 Sep 1939: U-13 rescued crew of a Dornier Do 18
U-13 (ObltzS Karl Daublebsky von Eichhain) rescued all four crewmen of a drifting Dornier Do 18 in M.Qu. AN 6481 (approx. 54°51'N, 04°05'E, about 100 nautical miles north-north-west of Terschelling) at 2025hrs on 12 September 1939. Several towing attempts failed and the next morning the flying boat was taken in tow by the German seaplane tender GUNTHER PLÜSCHOW, but subsequently flooded and was scuttled at 1230hrs on 13 September.
