1st. TACAF in February 1945
For a small publication about a bombing raid on the village I was living once I am trying to find out, which unit it was...
All I could figure out until now that the aircraft were P-47 Thunderbolt. 16. February 1945: Bomb attack on railway bridges crossing the river Rhine at WALDSHUT 16. February 1945: Again Waldshut but this time the railway station was attacked I somehow conclude that the concerend unit should have been one of the 1st. Tactical Air Force (Provisional) since they were active in the southernmost area of Germany at that time (supporting the 1st. French Army). Would anybody here be in the position to provide me with some further information regarding this topic? Many thnaks for your support in advance; Kuno |
