Thanks for your speedy reply, precisely what I was after! I have O-888675 1/Lt John Barton YERBY USAAF, 340th FS/348th FG, date of death 26 June, 1944. Yerby had previously served in the RAF (116159 F/O). He served on No.54 Squadron RAF in the defence of Darwin (1943), and later transferred to the USAAC. It is mentioned in several places that he was an ex-member of an Eagle Squadron, I can't find any evidence for that. http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article133423444 Appreciate your help.
